A flapper was a young women who dressed outrageously, in the winter time they would wear galoshes with buckles unfastened to create a flap. Hemlines rose above the knees and silk stockings were rolled down. They had a short bobbed hair style. A flappers choice of music would be Jazz.

Jazz and fashion was a way of life for the young Flappers. Jazz music was often shunned upon by older generations which made Flappers, who were also disliked by the elderly, enjoy it even more.
